The Christmas Story

A tale in five chapters

Every new player gets the Christmas Story book. It fills in as you go, and you can play each chapter on your own or with the whole crew.

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Something is wrong this year. High on Mt. Crumpit lives the one who started it all. Climb the covered stairway to his cave and find out what he's been hoarding.

Who-Ville

A whole town inside a snow globe, with candy-coloured roofs, rainbow streets and lights on every corner. The Whos have a festival to put on, and they could use a hand.

Krampus's Lair

Beyond the cellar door, it is always the night before Christmas. Families have gone missing from their homes.

Find him. Stop him. Don't let him catch you.

Santa's village has lost its Christmas spirit. The elves have stopped singing, the workshop has gone quiet, and Santa and Mrs. Claus need help putting it right.

Christmas Comes Home

Bring it all back to base camp. As the story moves along, the camp at the foot of the mountain decorates itself, and nobody forgets the first time the star lights up.

Life at the Hangout

Built for a cozy winter

The world is an Everest-sized mountain range with a base camp at its foot, and it's all made with friends in mind.

Mods made just for us

Three custom mods (Hangout Santa, Grinch and Blizzards) add whole new worlds, characters to talk to and story cinematics.

The Crew Cabin

Everyone starts at base camp, in a log-cabin HQ with a holo-table of the realms and achievement boards for the whole crew.

Real mountain weather

Blizzards roll in high up the peaks, and a careless climb can set off a (gentle) avalanche.

Monsters mind their manners

Hostile mobs leave you alone unless you start it, and creepers go off in Christmas confetti instead of craters.

Packed for adventure

New players get a starter kit with a big backpack you always wear and a brass telescope for spotting what's out there.

All the cozy extras

JourneyMap, waystones, Farmer's Delight cooking, Macaw's furniture, snow that piles up properly and new animals to meet.

How to join

Three steps to the mountain

You need Minecraft: Java Edition. Setup takes about five minutes.

Install Fabric

Run the Fabric installer and install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.21.1.

Get Fabric

Add the mods

Download the mod pack, unzip it, and copy every .jar from its mods folder into your .minecraft/mods folder.

Download the mod pack

Join the server

Launch the Fabric 1.21.1 profile, then go to Multiplayer → Add Server and enter:

play.hangoutcord.com

When it offers the winter resource pack, say yes.

The Hangout is whitelisted. Ask to be added before you join, or the server will turn you away at the door.
